✦ February 2026: Bharat delivered an invited online SPICE-SPIN+X seminar entitled “Adding materials-specific reality to the ongoing discussion of magnetism in RuO₂” at the Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz (JGU), Germany. The seminar was livestreamed on YouTube and attracted an international audience spanning more than 35 countries.

✦ November 2024: Shivasheesh  and Anusha received the prestigious Dorothy M. and Earl S. Hoffman and the Electronic Magnetic and Photonic Division (EMPD) Travel Grants, respectively, to present their research at the AVS International Symposium in Tampa, FL. Each received a $700 award in recognition of their work. Many congratulations to both of you! 

✦ October 2024: Bharat delivered an invited Joint Materials/Solid Mechanics seminar entitled “From Oxide Epitaxy to Membranes: Challenges and Opportunities” in the School of Engineering, Brown University, Providence, RI.

✦ October 2024: It was a pleasure to host graduate student researchers from Kyungpook National University, South Korea, in our lab. During their two-week visit, Ms. Yunzyne Kim and Ms. Yerin So gained hands-on experience with hybrid MBE growth, in-situ RHEED characterization, and had the opportunity to engage with our group members. We wish them all the best in their future endeavors!

✦ June 2024: Diego Setien (University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley) join the group under the REU program for the summer of 2024. Welcome Diego!! Diego investigated structure-property relationships in complex oxide thin films. His work focused on examining how different annealing conditions influence film crystallinity and electronic behavior, contributing to a better understanding of how to improve these materials.
